How to play Story Builder
- 1Pick a story type and length, then read the opening line out loud.
- 2The first player carries the story on for a sentence or two, working in the twist on screen.
- 3Tap Pass it on. The next player continues from where the last one stopped, with a new twist.
- 4Use the timer if anyone's tempted to tell a ten-minute saga.
- 5On the final turn, wrap the story up. Then try retelling the whole thing from memory!
Build a story together
Each turn adds a twist that has to go into the story. Pass the phone and keep it going.
Variations
- One word each: everyone adds a single word at a time. Ignore the twists until someone gets stuck.
- Genre switch: every three turns, the story changes genre: mystery, romance, space opera.
Tips
- “Yes, and…” keeps it flowing. Build on what came before instead of undoing it.
