How to play Pass the Parcel
- 1Before the party, wrap a prize in lots of layers of paper. Tuck a small sweet or sticker between the layers.
- 2Children sit in a circle. Start the music and pass the parcel round.
- 3When the music stops, whoever holds the parcel unwraps one layer and keeps whatever's inside.
- 4Start the music again. Whoever removes the final layer wins the main prize.
Variations
- Forfeit layers: add a slip in some layers with a silly task, like “sing a nursery rhyme”.
Tips
- The music-stopper should face away from the circle, or quietly make sure every child gets a layer.
