How to play Minesweeper
- 1Tap any square to start. Your first tap is always safe and opens up part of the field.
- 2Each number shows how many mines touch that square, including diagonally.
- 3Work out where the mines must be, and flag them using Flag mode or a right-click.
- 4Tap a number once all its flags are placed to open the squares around it.
- 5Open every safe square to win. Hit a mine and it's game over.
Clear the field without hitting a mine
Each number tells you how many mines touch that square. Use them to work out what's safe, and flag the mines you find. Your first tap is always safe.
Variations
- Pass and play: take turns opening a square, and whoever hits the mine loses.
Tips
- Start at the edges of the opening. If a 1 touches only one closed square, that square has to be a mine.
