How to play Go Fish
- 1Everyone is dealt 7 cards (5 with four players). The rest form the pond.
- 2On your turn, pick a rank from your hand and ask another player for it: “Got any sevens?”
- 3If they have any, they must hand them all over, and you ask again.
- 4If not, they say “Go fish!” and you draw from the pond. Draw the rank you asked for and you go again; otherwise, play passes on.
- 5Collect all four cards of a rank to make a book. When every book is made, the player with the most books wins.
Got any 7s? Collect four of a kind!
Ask a player for a rank you hold. If they have any, they hand them all over and you go again. If not: go fish! Four of a kind makes a book. Most books when all 13 are down wins.
Variations
- Real cards: one standard deck, played exactly the same way, with the pond spread face down in the middle.
Tips
- Remember what others ask for. If someone asked for queens, they're holding a queen.
