How to play Dominoes

  1. 1Everyone gets seven tiles with two players, or five with three or four. The rest form the boneyard.
  2. 2The player with the highest double leads in the first round. After that, the last round's winner leads.
  3. 3On your turn, play a tile whose number matches either open end of the line.
  4. 4Can't play? Draw from the boneyard until you can. If it's empty, pass.
  5. 5Empty your hand to win the round and score the pips left in everyone else's hand. If nobody can play, the lightest hand wins them. First to 100 wins.

Match the ends and empty your hand

Lay tiles end to end so that the numbers match. Go out first to score the pips left in everyone else's hand. First to 100 wins.

Variations

  • Real tiles: a double-six set works with the same rules, with the boneyard face down on the table.

Tips

  • Play your heavy tiles early, so they don't count against you, and try to keep a variety of numbers in your hand.
